· Acquittal at first instanceParis criminal court, 17th chamber
Acquittal on the merits; the court did not accept the parliamentary immunity invoked by the defence. The prosecution had sought a suspended fine of €5,000. According to Le Figaro (AFP), the Paris court of appeal, to which the prosecution had appealed, upheld the acquittal on 7 February 2019 (« Le délit n'est pas constitué à défaut d'exhortation » [“The offence is not made out in the absence of exhortation”], according to the presiding judge); no second media outlet from the list was found for this ruling.
